You should also have a matching entry in web.xml, e.g.

    <resource-ref>
        <res-ref-name>blah</res-ref-name>
        <res-type>com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtx</res-type>
        <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    </resource-ref>
