So... how do I convince the JRE to throw
MyXMLSpecificNullPointerException for those XML-related actions?

I suppose I could write a filter that I wrap around all my XML-based
servlets that catches things like RuntimeException and re-throws
something else.

That seems entirely stupid to me.
