Hi,

            We are using tomcat version 6.0.20, apache version 2.2.14 and the
application runs in Linux box having java version 1.6.0_18-rev-b09 installed.
We use JSF in our application, myfaces 1.1.5.

When we try to start the applcaition instance we get the following exception
trace and the application is failed to start.

Mar 24, 2011 10:25:44 AM org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext log
INFO: Validating faces configuration
Mar 24, 2011 10:25:44 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext listenerStart
SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of
class de.mindmatters.faces.spring.context.ContextLoaderListener
java.lang.IllegalStateException: No Factories configured for this Application.
This happens if the faces-initialization does not work at all - make sure that
you properly include all configuration settings necessary for a basic faces
application and that all the necessary libs are included. Also check the
logging output of your web application and your container for any exceptions!
If you did that and find nothing, the mistake might be due to the fact that you
use some special web-containers which do not support registering
context-listeners via TLD files and a context listener is not setup in your
web.xml.
A typical config looks like this;
<listener>

<listener-class>org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener</listener-class>
</listener>

It is working fine with 6.0.16 version of tomcat with all the other installed
versions are same.
Also we tried upgrading the myFaces version to 1.2 for 6.0.20 version but still
the issue occurs.

It seems to be an issue with tomcat, has the issue been reported already? Do we
have any fix in 6.0.20 version for this?

Regards
Subash
