Now of course, you could just add some RAM, and send the bill for the upgrade to the unreasonable software vendor. Or to the customer, or to whoever decided to upgrade to this new version which requires more resources. 
Like, what if they come back next week and say that now they need 1 GB heap per 
instance ?
