I do 99% of my development on 64-bit Windows XP so you should be fine
with that. The native bits (mod_jk, APR/native) are built separately and
the binaries / src tarballs downloaded from the ASF archives as required.

Just make sure you have Ant 1.8 or later. Just get the latest and you'll
be fine.
