I apologize for not reading the bug report first. I'll go take a look
over there and see what I can reproduce. My tests were with Tomcat
5.5.27 - before the "fix" - so everything looks good to me.

I'll have to look at this patch a bit more. It's clear that something
isn't working properly, there, because your request was perfectly valid
and you got that weird "CR or LF" error, which is inaccurate at least.
