OK. Do you have a stack trace, or otherwise know which part of whose code is waiting to acquire the lock? There could be at least four places: 1) Tomcat; 2) MySQL; 3) ActiveMQ; 4) Your code. What I'm asking is how you know that this is a Tomcat issue, rather than any of the others.
