My copy of the spec is at work at the moment, so I used the nearest reference I could think of .. the tomcat docs. Someone should probably fix the docs at http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html since it recommends exactly what I posted.
