Since this is an error within the JRE, the critical piece of information you omitted is the JVM version you have installed. Based on the file in the assert message, there appears to be something wrong with some certificate, but even so the JVM shouldn't crash. You could search the Sun bug list, or try a different (preferably newer) JVM update.
