With so many products attempting to provide backward-compatibility, you have to handle every (stupid) situation that comes up. The easiest thing to do is just go 100% UTF-8 and use the CharacterEncodingFilter. > However as this seems a frequent misunderstanding and request - will it > be possible to ship such a filter as an example with Tomcat? I don't see why not. Feel free to log an enhancement in bugzilla. You could even submit the patch (which would basically be a single extra file). > Who is the developer with commit rights that I need to pester for this? The best way to do this is to put this into bugzilla as an enhancement, and then attach your own code submission. As you say, it's a trivial filter to write. Bugs with patches get higher priority than those with none ;) - -chris -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHVEZn9CaO5/Lv0PARAuXgAKCD3owS9npsDgYaOhp3TZ0aPa2L7QCeKXfY wNlR8viXtT4Vjad3M6X25v0= =M1AO -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To start a new topic, e-mail: users@tomcat.apache.org To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
