Just as I would caution anyone who is running out of memory to check to see /why/ they were running out of memory before they blindly increase the heap size, I have to caution you to investigate /why/ you are running out of file handles before you blindly increase your file handle limit. Yes, increasing the file handle limit is likely to fix your problem, but probably only temporarily.
