Hello, I was trying to install and run Tomcat 6, but could not proceed because the build.xml in the documentation over here was broken due to the new directory structure. (http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/appdev/build.xml.txt).
I found that this website (by Marty Hall) provides exceptionally clear and simple instructions, and is also a great resource for learning JSP, servlets etc. (http://www.coreservlets.com/Apache-Tomcat-Tutorial). I would like to suggest that we provide a link to this page from the installation section of Tomcat.
