Hi,

You're going to have to do some more digging. A few questions which might help shed some light:

Anything in the apache and tomcat logs? Look for MaxClients reached. Anything in the syslog?
Are you using the latest apache and mod_jk ? If not, get them!
Have you checked the mod_jk settings? Check for unlimited timeouts.
Watch the apache server status page and check to see what the apache is doing. Likewise check the tomcat manager status page to see what the tomcat is doing.
Are the apache and tomcat on the same box?
How many apache instances on the box? Are you sure you're not binding to the same port as another instance?

Hope this gives you some ideas...

Ed.

We have web applications set up in apache- tomcat.

We have BIGIP posting a simple url ( jsp) to apache-tomcat for
monitoring.

Apache is not serving any content.

Our web application has only jsps and all are processed by tomcat.

Apache is going down after a day or 2. Tomcat is not having any issues.

Any idea why apache going down. We are experiencing this issue with both
apache2 and apache 1.3.4, on linux as well as on solaris.

Is it something to do with apache configuration?

We have keep-alive turned on.

Thanks in advance.
