Hello Every One! I am using the Tomcat version 5.5.17 I am new to tomcat, and learning the meaning of the tags in the /conf/server.xml file. In my version there is no <Logger> tag, but I am reading a book to get the customized logs specific to the application, I run. In this book they have put the <Logger> tag, and so did I. But I get the following error, when I start Catalina: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INFO: Stopping service Catalina Dec 16, 2006 9:00:13 PM org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol destroy INFO: Stopping Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080 Dec 16, 2006 9:00:13 PM org.apache.catalina.core.AprLifecycleListener lifecycleEvent INFO: Failed shutdown of Apache Portable Runtime Dec 16, 2006 9:03:28 PM org.apache.tomcat.util.digester.Digester startElement SEVERE: Begin event threw exception java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.catalina.logger.FileLogger at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:251) at org.apache.tomcat.util.digester.ObjectCreateRule.begin(ObjectCreateRule.java:204) at org.apache.tomcat.util.digester.Rule.begin(Rule.java:152)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I remove a <Logger> tag, Catalina runs fine, but the logs specific to the Application does not get generated. Any sort of help will be highly appreciated.
