Have a look at mod- rewrite
We have looked into it (not in depth, granted.) But:
(1) We have seen that it is capable of proxying, not just
URL rewriting. If we using its proxying capabilites,
do we still need mod-jk?
(2) When we tried using it, some stuff worked all right,
but we had trouble with the cookies.
