So I built a sample request filter using TC 5.x under NetBeans. I didn't realize that it was going to be so pervasive! It is part of a test project and just outputs some debug info to show that its awake.

The original app was just a test to see if I could trap login information from the JNDIRealm I was using.

I was working on a different app and noticed that the debug info from the filter was appearing. Very puzzling.

1) How does Tomcat know when it starts to look for other 'web.xml' files to see if any are filters? When I ran it the first time did I 'install' it somehow?
2) How do I disable it now?
