There is currently a Tomcat 6 in development. It has JSP 2.1 and Servlet
2.5 spec support. Also a new feature still in development is comet support.
There hasn't been talk of a release cycle for Tomcat 6 yet. So I can't say
if there will be one 5 days, weeks, or months from now.

Tomcat 5.5.x will not support JSP2.1, and the 2.5 spec. It will get any
enhancements such as performance or functionality.
