Tomcat should run fine on Home. Have a peek at startup.bat, my memory
is that it runs catalina.bat via a 'start' (so it starts in a new
window). Putting a 'pause' at the end of each of these scripts should
allow you to see what the error is, then repost that here and I'll see
what I can do.
