An RSS feed for Tomcat updates would be most helpful.

It's been a million years since I did anything with RSS.

It's entirely possible to have a static RSS feed, right? Like, your feed-checker can just check for updates on a simple URL and detect changes?

If that's the case, then it will be trivial for us to add a static RSS feed to the web site that just appends release information when we announce the releases.

Roger, if you can give us a static RSS template, I'll be happy to wire it into the release-announcement process.

actually new releases of Tomcat, Tomcat Connector etc. are announced on the mailing list and posted on the website.

What do you think of providing an RSS feed for announcements, website updates etc.?

OTOH there's a Twitter/X account which doesn't seem to be active (anymore?). The latest post is from July '24 and refers to the availability of Tomcat 11.0.0-M22... Although I don't use Twitter (anymore) I'd appreciate if such announcements are also posted there :-)

Regarding social media:
I'd also appreciate if there'd be an account in the Fediverse (which is becoming more and more popular) where such annoucements, updates, news, whatever are posted.

What do you think?

BTW:
Where can I report errors on the website? I just found out that the link to the blog under "Media" doesn't work: It links to https:// blogs.apache.org/tomcat that redirects to https://tomcat.apache.org/ blog/ which results in a 404/Not Found.

Kind regards

Thorsten
