The sequence of version numbers is:
1.2.1, 1.2.2, ..., 1.2.9, 1.2.10, 1.2.11,...

Therefore, 1.2.15 is newer than 1.2.9

Each release is given the next number in the sequence. This might not
look correct to a mathematician but then again neither does a number
like 1.2.6 !
