Hi Thanks for your help. I uninstalled j2sdk1.4 and installed it again. Now tomcat is working.

What all environment variables does it show? Check JAVA_HOME variable and make sure it exists and points to the right version of JDK. Do you see anything in the localhost_logs file created by tomcat in the logs folder?
