worker.properties file configuration for cluster

Hi Team,

 I used this configuration:
     worker.node1.redirect=node2
     worker.node2.activation=disabled
to configure the fail-over scenario , it seems to work fine.My question is
1: Do i need to enable <Cluster ... tag for above scenario as i think it is
working with
 or without it.
2: What should be configuration on Apache side in worker.properties file
for 2 or    more nodes to be in cluster.
3:How to verify if the nodes are in cluster.
4:Apart from session replication what we get by cluster implementation

Tomcat: 7.0.79
Apache: httpd-2.4.26-Win64-VC15
with mod_jk, thanks in advance.
