I don't know much about that for Oracle. What I was trying to mention was simply that you can check if you have a system property (-Djavax.sql.DataSource.Factory=...) to use a custom one. (Even though it's not that common, but it's still possible to override it by system property.) Your configuration doesn't have the factory attribute, so if you don't have the specific system property, then you can rule out my suspicion and focus on some other possibilities.
