This exception means that the filter with class test.org.apache.catalina.startup.DuplicateMappingParamFilter has wrong annotation i.e. the @WebFilter annotation is used with both "value" and "urlPatterns" which is wrong. If this filter is the one from Tomcat tests sources it is stated clearly in the javadoc that this class is used for testing wrong annotations. About the message itself, it needs some rewording because the problem is not with @WebServlet but with @WebFilter. I'll fix that.
