I already have this in my startup script: CATALINA_OPTS="-Djava.library.path=/usr/local/apr/lib -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx2048m" And the log has this: INFO: The APR based Apache Tomcat Native library which allows optimal performance in production environments was not found on the java.library.path: / usr/local/apr/lib I think /usr/local/apr/lib is already in the java.library.path variable.
