IIRC, Apache JIRA is running on top of Tomcat 8, so it *is* getting some in-the-wild play-time. IMO it's really close, except maybe for the NIO.2 connector which is completely new and experimental anyway. Looks like there might be a bug with sendfile in the 8.0.5 build, so you might want to disable that as well. It's certainly worth getting into your testing environment.
