Isn't Hibernate a separate project with it's own
mailing list and not even an Apache project? I just
say that because I don't think every Tomcat user = a
Hibernate user...not even sure it's a 25% margin.  My
guess would be that Hibernate doesn't simply support
JDBC drivers as you see
java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection being the culprit
and the usual factory method to obtain a database
connection....I would not even assume Hibernate has
(this huge list of JDBC drivers) packaged into it's
jar files. I think you'll have to put the JDBC
drivers jars in your classpath (web application lib
folder). My assumption would be that is all you have
to do to allow this to happen, and some how tell
Hibernate which driver to load
(Class.forName("yada.yada.Yada").newInstance() or new
yada.yada.Yada()....maybe through config files, but I
bet their site and list has more information? Maybe
you mistakenly sent the email to the wrong list?
