David I suggest you download the tools from Sun's Java Web Services Developer Pack 2.0 http://java.sun.com/webservices/downloads/webservicespack.html
there are utilities which help you generating stubs, for example wscompile can take a wsdl and generate client proxy code. Hope this helps. We have a SOAP service and client which are both implemented in Delphi, and the server is not scaling well. I'm a newbie to SOAP, and I'm trying to make a compatible service to run under Tomcat, but haven't been able to get a serializer to work. I have the full code of the SOAP request, and know what has to be done in the methods it calls, but can't get the skeleton set up for the call to get through to that point. If it helps, here is an example call; it is a real one captured by the Eclipse TCP/IP monitor; the only change I did was to format it for readability: <?xml version="1.0"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"> <SOAP-ENV:Body SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:NS2="urn:EDDRI"> <NS1:DataLine xmlns:NS1="urn:EDDIf-IEDDSrvIf"> <FD href="#1"/> </NS1:DataLine> <NS2:TES_Req id="1" xsi:type="NS2:TES_Req" XID="4"> <Site xsi:type="xsd:string"> 90555//270 </Site> <Time xsi:type="xsd:string"> 2004-06-23 00:01:37 </Time> <Data xsi:type="xsd:string"> E,0,10,040623,000137 </Data> </NS2:TES_Req> </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> Thanks!
