I'm always confounded by people doing things the hard way. All you have to do is unzip the admin package into the Tomcat installation directory - no error-prone copying needed. Even so, if you actually did what you said, it should have worked - after taking Tomcat down, adding the admin role and an associated userid to conf/tomcat-users.xml, and restarting Tomcat. If you haven't changed much in the Tomcat installation, you might want to start over from scratch, just to eliminate any possibility that the copies went awry. Stop Tomcat, deinstall it, delete any Tomcat directories lying around, unzip (or reinstall) the Tomcat download, unzip the admin download, update conf/tomcat-users.xml, and then see how it works. - Chuck THIS COMMUNICATION MAY CONTAIN CONFIDENTIAL AND/OR OTHERWISE PROPRIETARY MATERIAL and is thus for use only by the intended recipient.
