Yes - add your <servlet> and <servlet-mapping> tags to:
webapps/servlet-examples/WEB-INF/web.xml

The mapping is automatic for JSPs.

Read the servlet spec for details. It's on the Sun web site, and there
are links to it from various spots in the Tomcat documentation.
