So far it's been really cheap. 59 dollars for the month and im running a second rds to host my old database. Keep in mind im still under the free tier, but realisticly where are you going to get this kind of support or hardware this cheap. No reserve instances yet.
I've also been hosting an old 5.3 app on a medium ec2 with a small rds for almost year. Average cost has been around 147/mo under free tier.
