I've been working hard over the Christmas break to put together tapestry / atmosphere integration to support push application in tapestry (websocket / comet / polling / jsonp).
As with tapestry-cometd, the aim of this project is to support push applications without requiring developers to write a single line of javascript. You can see from the demo that I've created a multi room chat application without writing a single line of javascript. I have my reasons for not continuing with cometd as my push technology of choice. I can discuss that on another thread if need be.
