I haven't had a lot of time to work on the monitoring project. I went from a Tapestry centric project to something that isn't (I'm may get to change that) and work has been sucking up all of my coding energy.
Monitoring is something that could be added to core but I'd like it to be much more pluggable than my project is currently. For instance, if you're interested in using statsd it might be nice to just swap out the JMX parts, or perhaps have a couple listeners for logging to file, JMX and statsd. I've been using ERMA in another project which has some interesting ideas in it as well.
