I was playing with the tapestry autocomplete that is based on the script.aculo.us autocomplete and there were two things that I really wanted in an autocomplete:
ability to not have trailing whitespace removed by the client side script. support for markup in the autocomplete suggestions. Perhaps there is a way todo that with the builtin but scanning the js couldnt see any way even at the scriptactuous level to tweak. A quick look at the jquery-tapestry.com informed me that there isnt a mixin for the jquery autocomplete (that seems not to butcher my spaces at least).
