Did you ever find a solution for this? I am experiencing the same problem with Tapestry 5.3.2 in IE8. I have a page whose form is down far enough that the user has to scroll to get to it. When they use the datefield, the popup appears in a completely different part of the page, above the form. The user has to scroll back up to even see it. The form and datefield works fine in Chrome.
