Alas, Tapestry 4 is pretty out of date at this point; all the effort for several years has gone into Tapestry 5. Which version of Tapestry 4 are you using?
For the most part, T4 renders straight HTML and does a lot less client and JavaScript than T5. Chances are, your (now ancient :-) application is producing markup with a DOCTYPE that is causing your rendering problems. You need to provide a lot more information if you expect any real help.
