You know you're gonna wanna do it ... upgrade to 5.3, when it's ready. Tapestry 5.3 is faster, learner, and has new features and new components, including the unified alerts subsystem, the Tree and Kaptcha components, JavaScript minification, JPA integration, and more.
A couple of my clients have already been upgrading to the lastest alphas ... one has a larger project and is hitting some issues. #1 RenderSupport has been removed You should locate your code that uses RenderSupport and change it to use the similar JavaScriptSupport. RenderSupport was deprecated in 5.2 and removed in 5.3. #2 @IncludeJavaScriptLibrary and @IncludeStyleSheet are now @Import The older annotations were deprecated in 5.2 and removed in 5.3. #3 You MUST not have ANYTHING but component classes in your controlled packages Under your application (or library) root package, the .pages, .components, .base and .mixins packages should contain ONLY component classes. No interfaces, enums, annotations, data objects or anything else that is not a component to be transformed at runtime. Note: inner classes of components are live-reloaded, but not transformed.
