Thanks everyone, I haven't had a chance to get back to trying to resolve this issue with my test project, I do however know I am not using Tapestry Jquery and I tried upgrading our main project to 5.3 yesterday afternoon which seemed to work flawlessly. I'm using the same environment with both projects. Very strange for sure. I'll look further into this when I get a little bit more time, for now it seems to be working in our main project.
