I've always wondered how you can be progressive and conservative at the same time :) No reason except we didn't think that anybody would be using Java5 anymore together with tapestry apps. You could grab the source, set the compiler target version to 1.5 (we changed it in the latest parent to 1.6) and re-build, I believe it should work. If you provide a really good reason, we might re-consider deploying 1.5 versions but nobody has asked before.
