All of the test apps in the SVN repo can be started with RunJettyRun. You can check out the source of app1 from tapestry-core to learn Tapestry. In case of HiernateModule you should close the tapestry-hibernate-core project, then it will be loaded from your maven repo. I had the same issue two days ago when starting the test app inside tapestry-hibernate.
