I'd also like to have multiple Java methods that receive control depending on which submit button is clicked.
You can accomplish this with the Submit component, which fires an event of your choice, e.g. @Component(parameters = "event=buttonOneClicked") private Submit buttonOne; void onButtonOneClicked() { // Button one was clicked ... } The rest sounds like it's simply a matter of coding the UI in html/css/js. Tapestry doesn't help you much with that, but since scriptaculous is bundled you could probably reuse some effects or widgets from there. If you want to bind hidden field values to server side values you can use the Hidden component. You can also access the HttpServletRequest directly if you prefer, it's just easier with the Hidden component. Hi, Ulrich. Are you saying my request for assistance in understanding how to submit from JavaScript was inappropriate? I could have followed the approach of other posts I've seen on this list: I could have copy/pasted all the false trails I've been down and all the useless error messages I've gotten and then gotten back "Maybe this would work. . ." or "Why don't you just [some incomprehensible jargon]. . ." Instead, I asked for a reasonable, brief tutorial on a common, generic requirement, a tutorial that might exist that you could just refer me to. OR, if it doesn't exist, someone could write it and then it would be available whenever someone else needed this information. I'm used to email lists where people try to help one another, not where you get insulted for asking a reasonable question that no doubt many other people have grappled with in the past. --Lindsay Why don't you just give us your complete specs and let us do your work.
