About the search - as I wrote above I think the search button should be on the every page.
May be it would be good to have checkboxes "include maillist" and so on. The mail list is pretty important resource for T5, but a bit messy. May be it's ok to create this search based on the custom google search, as I suggested earlier. We need more opinions on that. Actually the first version can be put right now to make it more visual.
