IMHO, if you replace the generated HTML, it's not a skin, it's something else, as you're changing functionality too. You can also use the template extension feature in Tapestry 5.1.0.5. Take a look at how BeanEditor/BeanEditForm works, for example. I guess people still need to learn how to think in the "static structure, dynamic content" philosophy of Tapestry.
