The tacos implementation is missing validation, widgets and processing scripts returned in an ajax response.
In my opinion there are two main reasons to upgade to 1.x dojo version: 1) 0.4.x is not supported/developed anymore, there's been a substantial API change in 1.x (that is supposed to be stable for quite a while) 2) 0.4.x is quite slow Minor reasons might be new widgets.
