Hey Paul-
I don't use markers at all, so I probably won't be much help getting the
drag marker thing to work.
You can specify external graphics for vector features - for me, this is
the way to go - using a vector layer. In this case, the DragFeature
control works well.
If that is an option for you, I can give a bit more detail.
