Indeed. Are you saying that "testlib.TestComp" is considered a bug?
Personally this notation is more natural to me, and if I want to declare
a component in the template itself without instrumentation, this would
be the only syntactically valid way (vs "testlib/TestComp"). This is of
course because something like "<t:testlib/TestComp/>" is invalid XML. Is
it worth creating a JIRA and pointing out what I see as virtuous in the
"testlib.TestComp" notation?

Pity that one way is different for tags and attributes.
