Just as a quick response - this is not a success story yet, but the
project is close to completion. I joined CIGNA International, which is
one of the biggest international medical insurance companies, in January
2007. They were deciding then which framework to use for their next big
project. I applied all my efforts to convince them to use Tapestry 4,
and thankfully I succeeded. The only major reservation of the project
manager was that there are very few Tapestry developers out there, so
where do we get them when the project will go into the final stage and
massive efforts might be needed.
I started development on my own, then I explained to a contractor
developer how to deal with Tapestry, and he was able to grasp it in a
couple of days. Than another contractor joined our group, already with
some Tapestry experience... Now there are five of us who can do Tapestry
work when needed. The application is being tested and due to go live by
the end of September. It is a huge project, but an internal one. The
next one will be for the Internet, and there is no doubt that we'll be
using the same framework.
Hope this helps.
Alexander
