Actually it started working just by upgrading to the latest stable 4.1.2 !!!

(Though I had problem with ognl not taking my "{'updateThisComponentID'}", I
had to change it to just "updateThisComponentID" but I guess that has to do
with the new OGNL 2.7 - is it meant to be? Ka Iok 'Kent' Tong uses the
former syntax in his book, and this is not valid any more it seems...)
