Try foxit reader (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php). Starts
up faster and has a much smaller footprint. We also had much less
problems with crashing pdf viewers (adobe reader does that sometimes,
and once it has crashed no pdf files are displayed any more).
