Yes, I don't see why not: I hadn't considered Redis because I thought
that, like the Berkeley DB, it was a set of library functions rather
than a separate process. My mistake.

Indeed. As I said, I did a quick search to see if there was a FOSS
server like rbdnsd but failed to find it.
